Who handles your information

This website is operated by Benn Day, a sole-trader software engineer based in North West Tasmania and working across Tasmania.

Information I collect

When you submit an enquiry through this website, I collect your name, business name, email address and the information you choose to provide about your business, project or the problem you would like to solve.

If you enquire through a Benn Day form on Facebook or Instagram, I receive the information you choose to submit through that form.

Please do not include sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your enquiry.

How I use your information

• understand and respond to your enquiry;
• assess whether I can help;
• discuss possible work and suitable next steps;
• manage follow-up communication; and
• provide agreed services if we work together.

Your information is not used for an unrelated purpose without your permission unless required by law.

How website enquiries are handled

Information submitted through the website is recorded in the customer-management system used by Benn Day. Email notifications may also be generated so I can review and respond to the enquiry.

The website and enquiry system use platformOS services. Email delivery may use SendGrid. These providers process information as needed to operate their respective services.

Facebook and Instagram enquiries

Benn Day may use lead forms provided by Meta on Facebook or Instagram. Meta collects the information you enter and makes it available to Benn Day.

Meta handles its collection and processing under its own privacy terms. Once Benn Day receives your enquiry, it is handled for the purposes described in this notice.

Analytics and advertising technology

This website uses PostHog Web Analytics to understand page visits, anonymous sessions, referring websites, campaign parameters, browser and device information, and whether a website enquiry was successfully submitted. This helps Benn Day understand which pages and marketing activity are useful and improve the website.

PostHog is configured in cookieless mode. The website does not use PostHog cookies or browser storage, identify individual visitors, record sessions, capture form contents or automatically track clicks. PostHog uses the visitor’s IP address transiently to create an anonymous session identifier, then discards the address before location enrichment. Analytics data is processed in PostHog’s US Cloud.

No Meta advertising pixel or audience tracking is currently installed on this website. Using a Meta lead form does not by itself add advertising tracking to this website. PostHog explains its own handling of data in its privacy notice .
